Milestones and Fun Pictures

Dear Lexi,
This month you hit a lot of milestones. You started being able to sit unassisted, you learned to grab and reach at things, and you learned to pick things up off of your face. Daddy puts a diaper wipe on your face while he is changing you because you are a wiggly little thing who doesn't like to sit still. This month you learned how to use your thumb and index finger to pick it up off your face and toss it beside you. You also learned how to blow rasberries with your lips. It is the cutest thing watching you pucker out your lips and make noises.

Here is a picture of you sitting up...

Here is a picture of you with your rubber ducky (that you just started to love this month)...

Here is a picture of you finding your toes! Big accomplishment!

Here is a picture of you standing while holding onto something rather than daddy and mommy helping you stand...

I love you Lexi!

Adventures

Dear Lexi,

This past month we went on a lot of adventures with you. The first thing we did was go to the Dallas Museum of Art. You loved it. There was so much fun stuff for you to look at. The interactive display was your favorite because you got to touch strange things.

The next thing we did was go to the Pumpkin Patch. You were kind of unsure of whether or not you liked the Pumpkin Patch. You were being a little grouchy, but then we went on a Hayride. You LOVED the hayride. Afterwards you were all smiles and giggles. It was a fun day. We ended up getting you a mini pumpkin. You also had a really cute outfit that your Aunt Wendy bought you. You were the prettiest baby there!

The next adventure from this month is that we started you on solid foods. Not a lot, just a bite here and there. You really aren't too fond of them yet, but they are growing on you.

4 Month Stats and Pictures

Dear Lexi,
Your 4 month appointment was on Friday October 1, 2010. You weighed 18 pounds 6 ounces and were 25 inches long. You got your shots, which made you incredibly upset. You cried in pain while on the table and as soon as I picked you up you screamed at me until I took you out to the reception area. You stopped screaming shortly when we were outside. When I put you in your carseat you looked at me like "after all that you just put me through, now you are putting me in this thing." And then you started screaming. Poor baby!

I felt so bad for you! My poor baby! I love you and I'm so sorry you had to get shots!

Pictures from Month 3

Dear Lexi,
Here are a few of my favorite pictures from your third month with our family. I love you baby girl!

Lounging in the pool. I put a little bit of water in the bottom of the boat and you loved lounging back and kicking your feet.

You were watching the boys rough house over at Grammies house. You seemed to get more nervous than excited.

You were cuddling with daddy and wrapping your arms and legs around his arm. You were so cute.

You were refusing to go to sleep. We tried everything; rocking, swinging, feeding, singing, etc. Finally Daddy just held you and you eventually fell asleep. In this awkward position.

You have started to get so independent. You want to sit by yourself and lay by yourself. So we propped you up on the bobby and you were so happy just sitting by yourself.

This is a posed shot. I wanted to see how cute you would look blending in with all of your stuffed animals. It is like the ET shot where they hide ET in the little girls stuffed animals. I was trying to hide you, but you were easy to find.

Daddy was singing with you and you were sucking on your fingers. Your stuffed lion was on your lap. I pulled your arms down and put wrapped your arms around the lion. You got so mad that you sat there for about 15 seconds yelling at the lion for interrupting your hand sucking. It was adorable.

I love you Lexi. You are growing up so fast.

Mommy

Month Three

Dear Lexi,
This was a busy month for you. It started out with a relaxing week and then a lot of your relatives came to visit. You were a very popular little girl. It was a fun few weeks getting to hang out with everybody. After everyone left Daddy started school. That left you and me a lot of time to just hang out and try to get into a routine for when I started school. We finally worked something out to where you were going to bed around 6:30. It was great. You had a lot of first this month and a lot of milestones.
You learned how to grasp. I would put you in your high chair while daddy and I ate dinner. I put a few toys on the tray and you eventually learned how to grab them.
You found your hands. This was a big one because now they are your best friends. You don't want anything to do with your Paci anymore. All you want is your hands. It is really cute because you can only control them a little so sometimes it seems like they are fighting to be the one in your mouth.
You started to chatter a lot more. You would talk all the time. The cutest is when you sing along to Church songs. I would put them on in the car and the whole time you would go AAAAHHH AHHH AHH. You also sang along with daddy when he sang to you.
You started sitting up. Not a lot. But every once in awhile you would sit up for up to a minute.
You started taking Gymboree classes. You had so much fun and you were the highlight of the class. With your chunky little thighs and round cheeks. Everyone loved you. Plus you were so advanced. Everyone was impressed by your strength. You were holding your head up, you were sitting up, and you were standing with little assistance from mommy. You were also engaging. You smiled and were incredibly curious about your surroundings. The only thing you didn't like is the hand puppet of Gymbo the clown.
Dancing. You started to do this little dance thing while you are standing. You would wiggle your butt and puff it out. You would also sway your little hips. It was so cute.

Bring on the Family

Dear Lexi,
On August 3, 2010 the Walker family came to Texas to visit. On August 5, 2010 the HEss family came to visit. And on August 7, 2010 the Matteson family from Georgia came to visit. We had all of daddy's brothers and sisters in town. All together there were 29 people in town. You were the hit of the party! Everyone loved being with you, holding you, and playing with you. You got to meet all of your cousins, Aunts, and Uncles. I also got to meet everyone. It was a very enjoyable week for our family.
